Humourous but ultimately lacking ambition

The developers have done a decent job at fusing the humour of Family Guy into a videogame, there are even a few jokes that gamers will appreciate, such as when Brian is reading a magazine and says “Press up, up, down, down, left to watch a dirty movie”. He then pauses and says “horny gamers will believe anything.” Family Guy just wouldn’t have worked if Fox hadn’t agreed to the actual voice actors from the series taking part and in the game there are plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Family Guy succeeds because of this humour and well constructed dialogue. If you’re hoping for decent and exciting gameplay you won’t find it here, instead what you’ve got is a blend of three different styles of gameplay that we’ve seen a million times before and linear and simple objectives that aren’t challenging. Fans of the series will enjoy watching and playing as the characters and listening to their humorous quips; and although this may come across as a negative review, I will probably finish playing the whole game because Family Guy makes me laugh.

Pros
Family guy is funny
Voice acting
Visual style is identical to the TV show

Cons
No challenge
Unoriginal gameplay

I actually enjoyed playing Family Guy because I like the show, but if you're buying it for the gameplay you'll be sorely disappointed.

“Disguise Brain by putting a lampshade on his head”

Hmmm something wrong there but my poor brian can't figure it out ;)
 cheers
Beating up grannies, kicking over hot dog stands and punching the living daylights out of children is part and parcel of Brians’ missions. It’s amusing for a while and once again it’s the subject matter and dialogue that make it a worthwhile venture, but ultimately we’ve seen it all before.
shouldn't that be Peters' missions?
Anyhow - good review - helped me decide i'll probably nab it from the bargain bin in a while as it seems a tad shallow ;)
