Jet-Pack your way to the top

There's also some new vehicles, most notably the Phantom. At first glance it looks similar to a Ghost, but it has a more powerful plasma mortar attack that is devastating against groups of enemies. The Warthog and Mongoose can still be tricky to control, especially the latter which will topple over at even the lightest of impacts, but the addition of new vehicles, plus the reappearance of all our old favourites, such as the Banshee and Wraith, means there's plenty of tactical scope for attack and defence, particularly on the larger multiplayer maps.

The major new addition, which really does take Halo gameplay to a whole new level, is the introduction of armour abilities. Where before you’ve been able to make your Spartan sprint with the LB button, you can now swap that sprint ability with abilities like Hologram, allowing you to send a clone of yourself into he battlefield to act as a decoy. Other abilities such as Jet-Pack, which allows you to get a bird's eye view over the battlefield or reach high places quickly, opens up even more possibilities in battle.

Though the campaign offers more of the same Halo gameplay as previous games there's so much variety that there's always something new to try out. Alongside run-and-gun gameplay and vehicle combat, ground tactics play a huge part in the single player experience and as a result it feels varied and exciting. Bungie has done that by forcing you to adapt your playstyle due to the ever changing environments and enemies. There's some challenging and epic battles ahead of you in a campaign that lives up to everything that I wanted to see from Bungie's last effort.
