Conclusion

Right then, is it time to don the black cat suit and balaclava leap into the Aston and swap code words with your contact in the middle of a car park at midnight? Or should you just kick back, pick up the phone and dob the guy into the local authorities whilst claiming asylum? I guess it totally depends on how much you like James Bond and more specifically, Sean Connery as James Bond as this game is so heavily influenced by his portrayal of the character. If you love the old Bond movies with all their sexism, misogyny and one liners, you get along fine with James Bond 007: From Russia With Love.

However, even if you’re a Bond fan, those with more experience of third person shooters on consoles will find James Bond 007: From Russia With Love a tad too easy, even on the harder settings. Of course, there is the challenge of getting all the unlocks and upgrading your weapons, but to be honest, that’s just frippery and doesn’t really impact the core gameplay and re-playability. So for the seasoned gamer, it comes down to how much you like Bond whereas for the casual gamer who likes his classic Bond this is a no-brainer. Pros
Superb music
Voiced by Sean Connery
Excellent attention to film detail
Easy aiming system for casual gamers
Nicely expands on film locations
Nice ‘low-tech’ 60’s Bond gadgets

Cons
Speedboat missions overly long
Too easy for seasoned console gamers
Little reason to replay when finished

Bond is back… and he’s not looking bad for being over 40 years old!
