The Sims 3 and Tetris are among the EA Mobile games that will be available on the Windows Phone 7 platform.

Microsoft placed a lot of emphasis on the Xbox LIVE functionality on its new platform and announced its partnership with gaming powerhouse Electronic Arts at this week's event. The games for WP7 will be Xbox LIVE-enabled with the ability to track and share scores with leaderboards, unlock Achievements, add to Gamerscore and communicate with friends across the console.

The games announced so far are: Need for Speed Undercover, Tetris (with 12 varients), The Sims 3 and Monopoly.

While Microsoft's manager of Xbox Live mobile heralded WP7 as a ‘major games platform for Microsoft,' Travis boatman, VP of Worldwide Studios for EA Mobile, said: "We see consumers deeply integrating devices into their lives and entertainment in new ways every day. Challenging your Xbox LIVE friends to an EA game from the phone in your pocket keeps you connected and having fun no matter where you are."

The first titles will ship in 2010 and new phone models are expected in 2011. Other gaming companies bringing their titles to WP7 include: Microsoft Game Studios, Gameloft, Konami, Namco Bandai, PopCap and THQ.

The platform will support try-before-you-buy demos, turn-based gameplay plus ‘the quality and community of the Xbox experience' said Microsoft.

Sounds pretty cool… I'd like to see some ‘proper’ games like this on andriod.
