We've known that Windows Phone 8 'Apollo' has been in the works for quite some time. The new OS is built upon some of the same foundations as Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system and is even looking likely to support Metro Apps.
With so much in common with Windows 8 and, with the availability of Windows 8 RT, supporting ARM processors, we wonder, despite Microsoft's claims that there is indeed a difference, just how dissimilar Windows Phone 8 will actually be from its big brother. We can foresee some adjustments to the start screen, something more bespoke for mobiles, the integration of calling features, beyond this, however, everything is left to our imaginations.
We shan't be left wondering for much longer, however, as Microsoft has begun to dispatch press invites for a 'sneek peak; at the new OS at the Windows Phone Summit on June 20th, just over two weeks away. With such a significant under-the-hood change, this is one to perhaps look forward to.
