It's been a long time coming, folks, and just this Monday Intel finally launched its 3rd Generation Core processors that are based on the Ivy Bridge microarchitecture. We took a good look at the range-topping Core i7-3770K chip and followed that by serving up the much-anticipated Core i5-3570K.

You'll be able to purchase these processors from Monday April 30 at roughly the same prices as the equivalent Sandy Bridge parts. You've had plenty to say about Intel's newest, shiniest technology but, after the dust has settled, has your opinion changed any?

The QOTW is disarmingly simple: will you be buying an Intel 3rd Generation Core processor? Feel free to expand upon your answer with a diatribe or two - we're always keen to read well-reasoned invective - and do let us know how the Ivy Bridge reality correlates with your pre-review assumptions and expectations.

Not for me, already on SB and SBE, I think it is definitely worth a look for anyone still on first gen or core2.

Hmm on an I5 760… Worth an upgrade? Not sure, perhaps i'll wait till the tock. Not too much of a big improvement over sandy - not sure if ill notice much performance gain over what i've got… Any suggestions or comments?
Hmmm - Very tempted too. My Q6700 is really starting to feel a little old and the GPU less 3570L (2550K?) looks good. Unfortunately I'm in the process of selling my house and getting married in October so no idea if'll have the funds or not. If the house sells quickly maybe I can persuade the other half its a sensible spend…..
I'm waiting to upgrade, so depends on the price as I'm waiting for the 2500k to drop to bargain level.
Nope, will not. Have i5 2400 and see no reason to upgrade, have other priorities in life. Only thing am missing is NVidia GT 630 for my low profile PC.
