GEIL introduces the next evolution in memory

As well as using the latest voltage-tolerant DDR2 SDRAMs and being cooled by an impressive combination of copper heat-pipes and aluminium heat-spreaders, GEIL's EVO 1 memory modules feature IPS (Independent Power System) + EVM (Easy Voltage Manipulation) technologies intended to let you wring out the last ounce of performance.

The IPS system bypasses the normal voltage supply coming through the motherboard's DIMM connectors and feeds power through a floppy-disk-drive-style power connector present on each module (and as also illustrated on our shot of the ASUS M2N32 motherboard here).

The Easy Voltage Manipulation technology allows the voltage on each module to be adjusted using a top-mounted voltage pot - helping to boost the stability of the modules at over-clocked/high-frequency speeds.

EVO 1 kits should be available from retailers in one or two months' time and will be initially available in 1GB (2x512MB) DDR2-800 bundles.
