PRESS RELEASE

We wanted to give you an update on the latest from AMD and our partners at Embedded World. Here’s what’s happening at the show:

  • Building a New Machine Vision Ecosystem – AMD is continuing its work to build and grow the machine vision ecosystem for the embedded industry, namely by:
    • Working with Advantech and Mentor, we’ve introduced a new solution powered by the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor to make machine vision technology more accessible and easier to implement for the embedded industry.
    • Continuing to advance an open ecosystem for interoperable IoT and edge computing solutions via its participation in the EdgeX FoundryTM
  • Growing in Edge Computing and Networking – Based on the AMD EPYC Embedded 3000 system on a chip, Supermicro, Congatec and IEI have launched all-new platforms, including the:
    • IEI Puzzle series, leverages EPYC Embedded 3000’s high core count and I/O, and is set to handle propriety network and Universal Customer Premise Equipment, in addition to real-time SD-WAN services
    • Supermicro A+ server platforms, both the 5019D-FTN4 and E301-95-8CN4, uses EPYC Embedded 3000 processors to target a range of networking products, including vCPE/uCPE, SD-WAN, network security appliances, private cloud devices and embedded IoT computing.
    • Congatec Conga-B7E3A, a Server-on-Module allowing customers to use datacenter-class features in an embedded form factor.
  • Embedded Momentum – One year after the launch of the AMD EPYC Embedded 3000 series and AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor family, we’ve seen widespread success across industries, including:
    • Casino gaming where Quixant, Sapphire and others are using Ryzen V1000’s capabilities to power high-quality gaming on 4K displays.
    • Thin Clients, where AMD is a trusted market leader and helps companies build solutions that are designed create thin client devices that help reduce operating costs and power consumption, while lasting longer and providing enjoyable user experiences
