During their press conference from E3, Microsoft announced that its next-gen Xbox, codenamed “Project Scarlett” is powered by a custom-designed AMD processor based on cutting-edge AMD Ryzen™ “Zen 2” CPU technology and a “Navi” Next Gen Radeon™ RDNA Graphics Architecture including hardware accelerated raytracing, launching holiday 2020.
This is another big win for AMD that:
- Reinforces our leadership position as the #1 supplier of high-end processors and graphics to the game console market.
- Demonstrates the continued strength of our relationship with Microsoft, which now spans more than a decade with the Xbox family of products.
- Showcases the wide-ranging applicability of our leading-edge high-performance “Zen 2” and RDNA architectures to various markets.
