Yantai, China, Aug 05th 2008 – FOXCONN today launched the A7DA family of motherboards, based on the AMD 790GX chipset with SB750 southbridge. The new motherboards support the latest triple and quad core Phenom™ processors and existing AM2 Athlon™ and Sempron™ models ensuring backwards compatibility and future-proof processing power.
Both the A7DA-S and A7DA include HyperTransport™ 3.0 and PCIe Generation 2.0 – technologies which dramatically increase available bandwidth between graphics and CPU processing cores, contributing to a more balanced PC system performance.
Enhanced onboard graphics with Performance Cache
The integrated Radeon™ HD 3300 graphics processor delivers even better graphics than the previous generation of AMD integrated chipsets; around 33% faster than the 780G in 3DMark06 tests1, the 790GX chipset equipped with the onboard Radeon™ HD 3300 graphics processor makes for a remarkable combination. As you’d expect, full DirectX 10 support is included, which means the latest games can be played to their full potential.
Utilizing a brand new AMD technology called Performance Cache, the A7DA-S and A7DA offer even better graphics performance. With 128MB of Dual Channel DDR3 Side Port memory integrated on the motherboard, users can experience an additional graphics performance boost of up to 15%2.
Hybrid graphics
The A7DA motherboard family provides the best-performing Hybrid Graphics solution yet, with improved performance scaling when running the motherboard graphics together with an installed Radeon™ graphics card.
ATI Hybrid Graphics technology automatically boosts graphics performance by enabling both the discrete graphics and integrated graphics card to render simultaneously. When less graphics intensive applications are running, the system can disable the installed graphics card, thereby saving energy.
With multi-display support, you can utilize 2 monitors for increased multi-tasking work efficiency by not wasting time alt-tabbing between programs, and instantly double your desktop space with room to display 2 different applications in full screen mode.
CrossFireX™ for great gameplay
Even without utilizing Hybrid Graphics, users can experience phenomenal gaming performance by installing two Radeon™ graphics cards in CrossFireX™ mode. Both the A7DA-S and A7DA motherboards feature 2* PCIe2.0 x16 slots which can run simultaneously at 2* x8 bandwidth enabling two graphics cards to work together, dramatically improving frame rates in all your favorite games.
Ready to play Blu-Ray™ and HD-DVD
With the AMD UVD (Unified Video Decoder) onboard, HD support is provided without placing additional burden on the CPU. Instead the onboard decoder works to support 3 standards of high definition video – VC-1, MPEG-2 and H.264 – with minimal processing power required from the CPU.
High-definition video content can be output to a HD ready display via the HDMI or DVI-D ports located on the rear panel.
The end result is a motherboard which can truly support HD video playback without need for the installation of an expensive discrete graphics card.
Improved Phenom™ overclocking performance
With the SB750 southbridge included on the A7DA motherboards, FOXCONN have enabled AMD OverDrive™ technology. Shift your system performance into the next gear with Advanced Clock Calibration that allows you to get the highest overclocking out of your AMD Phenom™ CPUs
Solid reliability and performance
FOXCONN have used a 100% SOLID Capacitor and Ferrite Choke design, to improve reliability and overall system stability. Solid capacitors typically last around 6 times longer than their electrolytic counterparts.
Ferrite Choke design improves power delivery to the motherboard. By using an iron-oxide core, the Ferrite Choke design can hold energy at a higher frequency than traditional iron cores, resulting in less power loss, and more stability and performance capability for your system, especially when under heavy loading.
FoxOne™ Premium
Also included on all A7DA motherboards is FOXCONN’s proprietary FoxOne™ Premium solution, which enables easy overclocking, fan control and system monitoring from a dedicated Windows application - saving users from navigating complex BIOS options.
Usability technologies
With the AMD® SB750 southbridge onboard, the A7DA motherboard family provides for up to 6 SATAII and 12 USB2.0 connectors* which, along with RAID support, makes for highly flexible system configurations. In addition, the A7DA-S also includes 2* IEEE1394a (FireWire) controllers.
