PRESS RELEASE

Amsterdam, 7 March 2019 – Display specialist AOC announces a brand-new gaming monitor, the 28” (71.1 cm) G2868PQU with Ultra HD / 4K (3840x2160 pixels) resolution. To meet the demands of gamers looking for crisp and vivid imagery and sharp gameplay, the display boasts a next-gen HDR-ready TN panel with 1 ms response time. The G2868PQU also supports AMD FreeSync which eliminates stutter and screen-tear caused by mismatched image frames between the graphics card and the monitor. All these features ensure a fluid, smooth 4K gaming experience. The monitor becomes available in Europe in March 2019.

Crisp and vivid gaming visuals

The G2868PQU’s narrow bezels, red and black accents, as well as the angular 130 mm height-adjustable ergonomic stand underline its gaming-focussed build. This HDR-ready display is equipped with a new 28” TN panel, covering 102% of sRGB and 82% of AdobeRGB colour gamuts. Thus, users will not just see 4x as many details as on a Full HD display, but experience vivid colours and popping visuals as well. The image on the G2868PQU is extremely sharp thanks to a density of 157.35 ppi (pixel per inch). In addition, users of AMD GPUs can achieve a stutter and tear-free gameplay with less input lag and a refresh rate of up to 60Hz by utilizing AMD FreeSync.

Adjustable to its environs

The AOC G2868PQU looks minimalistic, yet offers a wide range of customisation. The sleek looking stand is adjustable to 130 mm in height, so users can position the monitor to their individual needs. Sunny or brightly-lit environments are no issue for the G2868PQU thanks to its high brightness of 300 nits. When used in low-light/night conditions, the Low Blue Mode helps reduce eye-fatigue.

Improved gaming focus

Just like the AGON series, the G2868PQU is also equipped with the following gaming-specific features in its on-screen menu:

  • With AOC’s Game Color, users can adjust the colour saturation, oversaturating the image if the content is dull-looking, or under-saturating for better grey levels.
  • With AOC’s Shadow Control, users can dial in shadow levels to brighten dark areas and vice versa to better see details in dark or too bright/washed-out areas without affecting the whole image.
  • AOC Game Modes, with specific adjustments for different game genres (FPS, Racing, RTS), plus three user customisable modes.
  • AOC Dial Point, where users can place an aiming indicator in FPS games that lack an in-game crosshair, so they can still aim precisely and accurately.

AOC’s G2868PQU will be available from March 2019 at an MSRP of £319.
