PRESS RELEASE

IPS6 series offers consistency of viewing angle and response time for intensive users

Slough, UK - 09 March 2011: Aimed particularly at demanding consumer users working in critical applications like Photoshop and video editing, LG Electronics has focused on delivering consistent image quality and minimising eye strain in its new IPS6 series. The range of displays uses intelligent LED backlighting and is part of a complete family of LED illuminated monitors from LG, each delivering maximum energy efficiency without compromising quality.

The IPS6 series - available with 20, 21.5 and 23inch screens - is based on a panel design which achieves absolutely consistent viewing at angles up to 178˚ vertically and horizontally. In a typical desktop set-up the viewer experiences angular shifts of 10˚ or more between the centre and the corners of the display. In other monitor designs this can result in visible colour shifts: the design of the IPS6 series eliminates this inconsistency, and thereby eliminates the frustration and uncertainty that varying colour reproduction can bring for critical users.

Similarly, the fast 5ms response time is maintained across the whole display. This ensures there is no image ghosting, again removing a major cause of eye strain, whether you are editing videos or just watching for entertainment. Together with the six-axis colour control, high contrast ratio of five million to one and automatic optimisation for video, the IPS6 monitor offers image excellence without compromise or conflict.

The slim and attractive monitor sits on a neat swivel base allowing it to be set to the preference of the user. The compact profile, combined with the precision of its display, make it ideal for design-led applications such as CAD. LG's smart LED backlight technology offers an energy saving of 30% compared with conventional LCD displays, ensuring it fully complies with Energy Star 5 and EPEAT Gold environmental standards.
