Keeping up with its usual rapid pace for driver releases, NVIDIA has posted a second entry in the 260-series of drivers in seven days. While this package doesn't quite have as many changes as the last one, version 260.99 does deliver a handful of additions and performance tweaks.
The major improvements will be seen in Civilisation V in SLI systems, Fallout 3, Final Fantasy XIV and F1 2010 running in DirectX 11 mode. SLI profiles for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II and Fallout: New Vegas are also included, which should give improved performance in those games once they are released.
In addition, there are new 3D game profiles for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Tom Clancy's HawX 2 for anyone running the kit for stereoscopic gaming. The installation process for driver components on 3D systems has also been modified, meaning that future updates should be a lot smoother.
Otherwise, the changes are fairly minor and just update various packages and components to the latest versions. The latest WHQL drivers can be downloaded directly from NVIDIA, and a full list of changes can be found below.
