The EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N edition graphics card was released only a week ago and already it has been used to break a trio of 3DMark World Records. Using a PC sporting a combination of EVGA's latest performance components plus lashings of LN2 Vince 'K|NGP|N' Lucido was able to reach new heights in three 3D Mark Fire Strike presets.

EVGA's GeForce GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N edition graphics card is a powerful modern graphics card with a unique construction and a number of features that make it attractive to overclockers, enthusiasts and gamers alike. Interestingly, it is sold at varying price points depending upon the pre-binned ASIC it is equipped with. The ASIC quality gives a good indication of the overclockability of a component and the higher quality ASICs cost significantly more. In the US, an EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N edition can cost between $849 and $1049 depending upon the ASIC.

Out of the box the card runs at GPU: Base Clock 1203 MHz, Boost Clock 1304 MHz, and GDDR5 RAM: 7010MHz (7096MHz OC Mode). It features triple BIOSes which can be tweaked and act as presets to quickly let you adapt it for your intended use, ACX 2.0+ cooling is standard, and then there are hardware and software features to allow better control of the parameters required to push this graphics card to the max.

The single card benchmark world records broken and the results were as follows:

  • 3DMark Fire Strike = 25,233
  • 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme = 13,091
  • 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra = 6,988

In an email to HEXUS EVGA told us that the system used to break the graphics performance records included an EVGA X99 motherboard, an EVGA high performance PSU and the headlining EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti K|NGP|N edition graphics card.
