MSI and ASUS have this week announced that they are now shipping updated versions of their Intel H67 and P67 motherboards that are no longer affected by the SATA flaw discovered in first-generation products.

The updated boards are said to be "on their way to the UK" and will be distinguished from the erroneous first crop through the addition of a "B3 Stepping" sticker on the box, as well as revised product codes.

The first batch of B3 boards are expected to appear in limited supply, but consumers who are waiting to exchange faulty models should soon be able to do so.

Commenting specifically on its UK support programme, MSI states that "customers who currently own a potentially affected motherboard will soon be able to register with MSI UK to exchange their board for an updated version" and adds that "more news on exactly how to do this will follow in the coming week".
