Acer has launched a new ultrawide curved 35-inch gaming monitor, as part of its Predator range. The new Acer Predator Z35P addresses the main criticism of the Predator Z35, as it is equipped with a higher resolution display panel, making better use of its 35-inches of screen real estate and the power of modern GPUs.
The 1800R curved panel fitted by Acer in this updated Predator monitor is of the VA-type and boasts wide viewing angles and a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels (compared to the 2560 × 1080 of its predecessor). Other key specs gamers often watch closely are; a 4ms response time, a standard refresh rate of 100Hz (overclockable to 120Hz), and compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync. This monitor has a contrast ratio of 2500:1 and maximum brightness of 300 nits. Stereo 9W speakers are built-in, and there's a 3.5mm audio in/out too. You can connect to this monitor via the 1x DP 1.2 or 1x HDMI 1.4 port.
Acer says that the Predator Z35P features flickerless technology for the reduction of any eye strain possibilities. Further egonomic considerations are seen in the provided stand which is adjustable for -4° to 35° tilt, 20° swivel, and 5.12-inches of vertical adjustment.
For convenience Acer has equipped a USB Hub in the Predator Z35P ultrawide gaming monitor. This offers 4x USB 3.0 Type-A connectors from a single USB 3.0 Type-B input. When in use expect the Predator Z35P to consume about 65W, reduced to 0.5W when sleeping.
Amazon US already has a listing for the Acer Predator Z35P, at $1,099 with shipping in one to three weeks. In the UK we only have the older 1080p (but faster refresh) model currently listed at £611.
