Taiwanese manufacturer of LCD displays, HANNSG, has announced the arrival of its 28in 1080p widescreen monitor in the UK market.

The monitor, model number HG281DJ, offers a 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution and provides a HDMI port with HDCP support. HANNSG claims the display, which is compatible with both Mac and PC, to be ideal for amateur film makers, digital photographers and designers.

The display, not too dissimilar to Viewsonic's 28in VX2835wm, will give you a rather average, but typical, 800:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/m² brightness, and a pleasing 160 degree viewing angle. There's an anti-glare surface, ideal for the current bout of sunny weather, and a 3ms grey-to-grey response time.

It's key features, as detailed by HANNSG, are as follows:

  • Display Size: 27.5” Widescreen
  • Brightness: 500cd/m2
  • Contrast Ratio: 800:1
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1200 WUXGA
  • Response Time: 5ms (typ)/3ms (GtG)
  • Display Colours: 16.7M
  • Display Surface: Anti Glare
  • Viewing Angles: H/V 160º/160º
  • Inputs: VGA, Audio, HDMI (HDCP), Component
  • Speakers: 2x 2.5W
  • Dimensions (mm): 668 (w) x 211 (d) x 486 (h)
  • Tilt: 0º~20º
  • VESA Mounting: VESA Standard 200mm

Its best feature, however, is the £399 price tag at which it retails from misco.co.uk - complete with three year warranty.

..but the 3ms response time will leave gamers looking elsewhere.

Surely 3ms is quick enough for gaming, I used to have some old 19 inch Samsung 930BF's they were 5ms and designed specifically for gaming.
I didnt have any ghosting or display issues when i used thoose for gaming. But the lack of a DVI connection spoils this monitor.. :(
I agree with the aboce. I thought the comment on 3ms was a little harsh, 3ms is plenty low enough for gaming. The lack of DVI would be an issue for me also.
3ms is more than enough for gaming.

if your refreshing at 75hz, how is that slow!?
