Perhaps a little big for some of us, however, Sharp has recently been caught touting its latest 5" 1080p FullHD mobile displays at CEATEC 2012.

These super high-density displays will be going into full production later this month, though, exactly what device they'll wind up on is anyone's guess; currently the only mobile on the market in this weight class is the GALAXY Note, which we know will always utilise Samsung tech. If bezels can be reduced in size, it's possible that we might see these displays on some of next year's high-end smartphones, with our eyes glancing towards HTC.
The panels are based on AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) and utilise Sharp's thinnest GS-Silicon technology to create thinner film layers. We're not yet sure if these displays utilise IGZO technology or in-plane touch. At 443ppi the displays well surpass Apple's typical Retina display and should remain pixel-free beyond typical viewing distance.
