Acer launched the curved Acer XR341CKA, a 34-inch 21:9 UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440 pixels @ 75Hz) IPS display with Nvidia G-SYNC technology at its next@acer event in April. Now Acer has announced and listed the same monitor, but with AMD FreeSync compatibility built-in, it's called the Acer XR341CK.
The XR341CK is a great looking curved display with a zero frame design. Some will consider the 34-inch QHD (3440x1440) panel to be the optimal resolution for content consumption and gaming. Its wide field of view offers an enchanced level of peripheral vision and IPS technology provides great viewing angles. Acer's XR341CK provides a good choice of modern connectivity options including HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, miniDisplayPort and a USB 3.0 hub.
Aimed at PC gamers
The FreeSync compatibility should help reduce stuttering and screen tearing in games and Acer does seem to consider this monitor as a device aimed at PC gamers. "This killer new monitor makes game play incredibly realistic," said Charlotte Chen, Acer America product manager. "The ultra-wide curved design, stunning image quality and dynamic audio take the thrill of gaming to a new level." For convenience audio can be piped though the two built-in 7W speakers with DTS Sound.
Other key specifications of the Acer XR341CK include; 4ms response time, 100 percent sRGB colour reproduction, flicker free technology, low blue light technology, low dimming, plus PiP and PbP modes. Buyers will also enjoy the flexibility of the adjustable aluminium stand with -5° to 35° tilt and 5-inch height adjustments.
Available late July, $200 cheaper than the G-SYNC version
The FreeSync compatible Acer XR341CK will become available in late July with an MSRP of $1,099. Our earlier information regarding the Acer XR341CKA was that this Nvidia G-SYNC compatible display would become available from July/August with an MSRP of $1,299. Whichever you buy you will get a three year parts and labour warranty.
