Avexir, a maker of "High End/Gaming/Crazy Memory Products," has launched its Raiden Series of DDR3 memory modules. These modules are said to offer premium performance, thanks to hand-picked ICs, and easy optimal configuration thanks to Intel XMP support. However the performance related hardware tech specs of the Avexir Raiden Series is overshadowed by the "world exclusive patented technology of plasma tubes to mimic lightning effect," built into each memory module.
Installing a blue plasma 'lightning generator' atop of its memory modules might have no purpose other than providing geeky eye candy but it is a natural next step product for Avexir. If you browse through its previous products you can see it heavily promotes its Blitz and Core series memory modules which feature enough pulsing/throbbing LEDs to put my Xmas tree to shame. There's a videos page dedicated to these two ranges available here. Unfortunately there's no video of the Raiden Series in action as yet but the company is asking users to "make a nice looking video review," and send it in to the marketing dept.
Forgetting about the blue plasma frills now, what is the spec offered by these modules? Avexir is marketing the below dual and quad-channel kits, offering between 8GB and 32GB total RAM and speed rating of up to DDR3-2400.

If you are interested in these modules please be aware of their size; 14.2cm long, 0.9cm thick and 6.3cm tall. That's quite bulky and tall, around 1cm taller than the rather tall Kingston HyperX Predator DDR3 or G-SKILL Trident-X DDR3 modules, for example. Other 'standard' DDR3 memory modules are often only around 3cm tall.
We don't have any word on if/when DDR4 Raiden Series modules will appear. As for the pricing and availability of these DDR3 Raiden Series modules, Overclockers UK has the AVD3U24001008G-2RD dual channel kit (16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10) listed at £299 inc VAT and a similar 8GB (2x4GB) kit listed at £149 - scheduled for arrival on 20th March.
