Gigabyte is teasing some of the announcements it will be making at Computex 2019 in a couple of days time. The well known PCs and components firm has a theme of Data centres, smart and IoT 5G connected devices, and pro studio equipment. However, that doesn't mean it has forgotten about enthusiasts and gamers. In a pre-Computex press release published a few hours ago Gigabyte mentioned that it would be releasing "the world’s first PCIe 4.0 interface M.2 SSD," and new Aero 15 and 17 gaming laptops with the latest Nvidia GPUs and Samsung AMOLED displays. Furthermore, the firm is likely to have a number of announcements and new products under the Aorus name next week.

Gigabyte PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs

Gigabyte shares a tiny paragraph about its intention to release the "World's first PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD" at Computex next week. It says that the new SSDs will be particularly welcomed by pros, especially video editors, thanks to the "5000MB/s read/write speeds in low temperatures".

Confirming what everyone is expecting, Gigabyte adds that the timing of this super-fast PCIe 4 SSD release is to coincide with the release of the latest AMD platform. They don't name it, but it is obviously the new AMD X570 chipset motherboards we expect to come along with the Ryzen 3000 series 7nm Zen 2 architecture desktop CPUs.

Gigabyte Aero laptops

HEXUS has previously reviewed a number of Gigabyte Aero laptops, the most recent one being the Gigabyte Aero 15 X9, back in February. Thus, it is of great interest to see some significant changes coming to the lineup at Computex 19.

Perhaps the biggest change coming to the Aero laptop line is the introduction of the biggest screen version yet, the Gigabyte Aero 17. Gigabyte thinks the extra screen area will be a boon to creators on the go. Both the upcoming Aero 17 and updated Aero 15 models will come with the latest Intel and Nvidia processors, promises Gigabyte.

Another significant change is that Gigabyte will be the first laptop maker to equip its machines with 4K Samsung AMOLED displays. It says that these AMOLED panels "support a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut which offers a 25% wider range of colours than the traditional sRGB". Furthermore, the screens will be VESA Display HDR 400 standard compliant and Xrite Pantone calibrated and certified before they reach your lap.

5GB/S and active cooled chipset ;)
“5000MB/s read/write speeds in low temperatures” so what will it be at ‘normal’ temperatures then…

Thus me saying actively cooled chipset. And perhaps an actively cooled m.2 ssd ;)
you'll need that bandwidth soon for all the voice and webcam data MS and its Alexa Amazon build-in will be storing during use for streaming back to their servers once you go online.

You can get tiny blowers for M.2 SSDs, with 25mm fans. It'd be cute to have a 1/4 scale version of one of their windforce heatsinks bundled with this
