Verbatim is busy showcasing the latest addition to its HD DVD-R range - a 30GB dual-layer, single-sided 1x write-once disc.
Representatives were keen to point out that it's the first company to launch such media and that plans are afoot to increase write speed to 2x imminently. Blu-ray, though, still has the capacity advantage.
Recommended pricing for the regular 12cm 30GB disc is suitably high at £11. It should be in shops in a month or two.
