Conclusion

...certainly a contender, but a limited selection of display outputs and a bland design contrive to prevent it from standing out from the crowd.

Gaming manufacturers have a natural tendency to overcomplicate products, yet for mid-range solutions where pricing is key, it makes perfect sense to keep it simple and play it safe.

That's effectively what Palit is doing with the RTX 2060 GamingPro OC. Whereas other manufacturers have gone big and bold, this 653g card retains a dual-slot form factor, isn't overly large, doesn't bother with RGB lighting, yet is shipped with the same 1,830MHz factory overclock as many of its competitors.

Is this, then, the RTX 2060 to go for? Palit's offering is certainly a contender, but a limited selection of display outputs and a bland design contrive to prevent it from standing out from the crowd.

Bottom line: Nvidia's £329 Founders Edition continues to lead the way, but at £350 the Palit GeForce RTX 2060 GamingPro OC is a close second.

The Good

The Bad

Factory overclocked on core
Forward-looking Turing architecture
Lightweight and dual-slot form factor
Decent price

Limited selection of outputs
Fans don't turn off at low load
Not as pretty as the Founders Edition

This is at the same price point as the 1070, therefore performance should be compared to the 1070 and not the 1060… this is not a big improvement on the 1070, which is disappointing; but this is currently the better buy of the two because it is a newer generation with more potential to gain improvement from driver improvements.

£350 for an Nvidia xx60 series card shows the ongoing price creep from Nvidia.

But if a website or business performs a relevant comparison, it make make Nvidia look bad, and that gets you blacklisted, so they're not about to do that lmao.
Only 1 Display Port? but why
So they use a 6 month old AMD driver? Mmmmm. 18.8.2 was released last August.

Oh, and this ‘Forward looking Turing architecture’ you speak of, what use is it in a 2060?.

Agree it should be compared to the 1070 as it is in that price range. Presumably Hexus sold out and signed the nVidia agreement, can't think of any other reason for this articles obvious bias.

Would never base my buying decisions on anything here.
best get a Founders Edition lot better and it got a back plate
