Conclusion
The end result is an intrinsically decent card which straddles an uncomfortable price-to-performance line...Gigabyte's GeForce GTX 1660 Gaming OC is a decent card in its own right. Ample cooling leads to near-silent operation, the overclock is solid, temperatures excellent, and it fits into a two-slot form factor.
As much as we don't like to focus on it, the overriding factor that determines buying choices for the gamer requiring seamless 1080p capability isn't any of those listed above. Sure, they're nice to have, but it's price - more accurately, price proximity - at this tightly knit part of the market which is paramount.
Offered at retail from £225, it's 12 per cent dearer than its own brethren and not that much cheaper than the GTX 1660 Ti. Team Radeon's dearer but much faster RX Vega 56 also looms on the horizon for would-be buyers. The end result is an intrinsically solid card which straddles an uncomfortable price-to-performance line.
If Gigabyte manages to reduce the etail cost to, say, £215 then it becomes worthy of proper consideration. As it is, there is better value elsewhere.
