If you recall the RTX 3080 review, the provision of an ungodly number of shaders gave the Ampere-based GPU a commanding lead in applications that take full advantage of its floating-point might.
The different approach to Nvidia architectures is most pronounced here. In a best-case scenario, RTX 3070 FE is over twice as fast as RTX 2070 Super FE. Useful if you're using a GPU to run Optix workloads.
