Releasing Pulse and Nitro+ air-cooled cards, the aim is to improve upon the reference models in every meaningful way, which is no mean feat considering AMD has really upped its game on that front.
The Nitro+ version arrives armed with a higher core frequency that provides an extra four per cent framerate at higher resolutions. Not much, you might say, but understandable as AMD runs Big Navi pretty high from the off.
Faster speeds make it roughly performance equivalent to aftermarket Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 cards, and Sapphire manages this with minimal noise, great temps, and RGB that's attractive and restrained rather than gaudy and blinding.
It's a tough ask to recommend cards other than the base reference board from AMD - it really is good - yet Sapphire nails it with the Nitro+. On the rather large assumption you can find one in stock, anywhere near the £700 SEP, this side of Christmas, it's a great card for high-resolution gaming thrills and spills.
Bottom line: a fine interpretation of of the Radeon RX 6800 XT, the Sapphire Nitro+ is a solid and dependable choice for the well-heeled gamer.
