Conclusion

...Sapphire's adaptation conforms to the RX 6800 remit by delivering excellent performance at QHD and competent framerates at 4K UHD.

AMD can rightly be applauded for putting forth a competitive alternative to Nvidia's formidable Ampere architecture. RX 6000 Series GPUs are a sign of Radeon's return to form, and while Nvidia holds a generational lead in terms of ray tracing and GPGPU, AMD brings much-needed competition to the space.

Hoping to make the most of RDNA 2's potential, Sapphire has a wide range of custom boards to choose from, headlined by the premium Nitro+. Attractive in appearance and solidly built throughout, Sapphire's adaptation conforms to the RX 6800 remit by delivering excellent performance at QHD and competent framerates at 4K UHD.

Such characteristics are a given, and though Sapphire's out-the-box overclock can be described as timid at best, there are attributes that help the custom card stand out alongside a reference model. RGB lighting is neatly implemented, a dual BIOS comes in handy, and noise levels, or lack thereof, are the lowest we've seen from a high-end graphics card.

Bottom line: wonderfully quiet at all times, the RX 6800 Nitro+ is a solid choice for next-generation PC gaming. If only you could buy one.

Picked one of these up from Scan yeasterday, for my new build and paid £725 for it. Sadly way overpriced but I wanna get the system built, as my 10 year old i7 with a 1070 needs to be retired…looking forward to some good 1440p FPS levels :)
Parm, when you measured the noise level, was the card in Quiet Mode or something else?
110 quid premium over the reference board seems weird. Like that is high end extras territory.

The power, temperature and noise readings were taken using the default ‘Performance’ profile. We did also run the same tests again using the Quiet profile but noticed barely any change. In either mode, fan speed only briefly exceeded 30 per cent and typically remained below 1,000RPM.
I really like the aesthetic of the backplate on this GPU, it look far more white though than the front which is more silver? is this just a picture issue or is it like that in person?
