As impressed I was with the reference board in the preview on HEXUS.core, I'm the same again with XFX's attempt. While the bundle could do with some work, the performance is spot on. While the clock increases are modest, they almost always turn in to real-world performance increases when the hardware is made to work and the CPU isn't the bottleneck. Effectively, the performance is free.It overclocked nicely, the addition of Tenomichi's 3D Edit and the component output cable make it appeal to casual video editor and gamer with HDTV alike, and I can always recommend you give Far Cry another go, especially at 1920x1200 with some IQ on, using the GTX 512's extra usable power versus anything else on sale today.
There's not much more to say, really. The box art is about the only thing I object to and, really, who looks at the box all day? It's expensive, at around £520 including VAT, but it's readily available if you look hard enough and you could have one in your mits in a week or so, looking around a bunch of online retailers in the UK, if you have the readies.
Awesomely fast graphics with little to touch it. And for the well-heeled enthusiasts, those are the only words they need to hear to reach for their credit cards.
