Conclusion
...this screen increases the refresh rate to 144Hz and backs the lightning-fast response with wide-range AMD FreeSync compatibility.Asus has sought to increase the prominence of adaptive-framerate monitors by introducing a trio of screens able to harness the FreeSync technology baked into AMD's current Radeon cards.
The MG248Q is a case in point. The high-level specifications are somewhat bland - a full-HD resolution on a 24in monitor - but that is missing the point. Designed for the gamer on a relative budget, this screen increases the refresh rate to 144Hz and backs the lightning-fast response with wide-range AMD FreeSync compatibility.
The real question we ask ourselves is whether there's a market for a 24in screen equipped with a high refresh rate and adaptive synchronisation technology, all wrapped up in a £260 package. There's plenty of alternatives for that kind of money, of course, but if you enjoy liquid-smooth gaming at a passable resolution then, and only then, the MG248Q has merit.
