Conclusion

HyperX has been late to the RGB RAM party. As a gatecrasher, it now comes in with what it believes is the best stuff on the market in the form of Predator RGB.

The approach is tentative, because said memory is available in 8GB modules and a single speed of 2,933MHz with middle-of-the-road timings. Though real-world benefits of running faster RAM are muted on modern, high-performance desktops, it's always nice to have faster speeds in the locker, and we imagine HyperX will duly oblige in time.

To the modules themselves, they are well constructed, offer a full-width lightbar that produces even, consistent lighting through the diffuser, though we'd prefer fewer holding clips and a wider section for maximum visual impact.

Coming to the key feature, inter-module synchronisation through IR controllers, it works well, but we wonder the need for it when, in our experience, other brands don't fall out of light sync on a regular basis. We'd also prefer Kingston to have its own configuration utility that makes the most out of this unique feature.

The bottom line is that Predator RGB is another quality, well-made product from the ever-growing HyperX stable. Appreciating the speed and timings on offer, it needs to drop below £200 for a solid recommendation.
