Final Thoughts and Ratings

Before we sum up Corsair's Arctic White Vengeance LP memory kit, it's worth referencing a couple of reviews from earlier in the year.

Last month, we found ultra-high-speed memory kits were able to show tangible performance benefits on a low-cost AMD Llano system, but added that premium memory solutions defeat the purpose of a value-orientated platform.

And there's little reason to adopt ultra-high-speed memory in an Intel Sandy bridge rig, too. In our April analysis, we found that the traditional reasons to purchase memory - capacity and speed - were being marginalised in favour of other factors; which modules are competitively priced, which look best with your motherboard, and which manufacturer offers the best warranty and support in your region?

Our advice to most consumers would be to choose a reputable brand and pick up an 8GB, CL9 kit that'll do 1,600MHz at low voltage. It's a future-proof configuration that hits a sweet spot of price and performance, and it's perfectly realised by Corsair's Special Edition Arctic White Vengeance LP.

Suiting both mainstream and enthusiast audiences, this 8GB kit offers great performance, ultra-low power consumption and, perhaps more importantly, streamlined good looks. A heatsink on a 1.35V module may be unnecessary, and the low-profile branding may be a tad misleading, but the Vengeance LP - at under £50 - is an excellent choice for any system.

The Good

8GB kit competitively priced at under £50
Unlikely to obstruct large CPU coolers
Attractive Arctic White heatsinks
Low power consumption
Limited lifetime warranty

The Bad

1.35V Vengeance LP modules only available in Arctic White

They look absolutely great in their white 600T case, with the H100 installed and a MSI GTX 570 as well :)
Hello everyone. I would like to know the members of this select forum if I can use three kits Corsair Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9W Low Profile White 8GB 2x4GB Kit to make 24 gb. Thank you.
It's not designed for triple-channel platforms, so ‘officially’ no, but with a little hand-cranking in terms of voltage, I reckon it should work. It depends if you're happy to potentially fiddle with the BIOS or not.
