Conclusion

...the inclusion of the heatsink lowers peak operating temperature by 20°C.

We have previously established that the WD SN750 is a solid NVMe drive for the enthusiast who wants top-notch performance from a big name.

Building on the base model, WD now sells the three higher-capacity models with an EKWB-designed heatsink that looks great and is fitted excellently.

Performance is robust in all benchmarks, befitting an enthusiast-class drive, and the inclusion of the heatsink lowers peak operating temperature by up to 20°C compared to the same drive without any cooling. Good for longevity, you would think.

Bottom line: it's definitely worth looking at the heatsink-equipped version of the WD SN750 NVMe if opting for the 1TB model.
