Conclusion

Blazing-fast sequential speed is backed by top-notch all-round performance...

A relative newcomer to the upper echelons of PCIe NVMe storage, Sabrent sets the bar high with its range of Rocket drives. Taking full advantage of the extra M.2 bandwidth on offer from AMD's latest processors and chipsets via PCIe 4.0, the 1TB model blitzes the competition by winning every benchmark.

Blazing-fast sequential speed is backed by top-notch all-round performance, and we're unlikely to see a fundamentally faster drive until the next generation of hardware arrives. Naturally attracting a hefty premium over entry-level PCIe 3.0 models, Sabrent's pricing still remains very competitive against other models featuring the Phison E16 controller and fast NAND. And if your motherboard can take it, the option of a high-quality heatsink adds to the overall proposition.

We'd strongly urge Sabrent to cover the drive with a five-year warranty without the need for registration, but other than that, there's every reason to consider it for power users invested in the latest AMD platforms.

The Good

The Bad

Got a Corsair MP510 gen 3 drive as boot in this pc and it's plenty fast enough but I was almost tempted to go Rocket
Silicon Power also fair well I feel you should try and test one of their newer drives as well
Any chance Hexus can put the countries where you need to RMA the drives to?? AFAIK,Sabrent is US based.

Sure, we'll find out what the RMA deal is with Amazon, as that is one of the places you can get it from - it's an Amazon-fulfilled offering.

though do note that the maximum figures are a bit lower for AMD platforms at 600K/500K for random reads and writes, respectively.
Which other PCIe 4.0 platform are they quoting for then?

Thanks - that would be very useful! :)
