Best thought of as the Black SN750 series augmented by much better endurance.WD bolsters its Red series of NAS-optimised SSDs by releasing the SN700 series. Best thought of as the Black SN750 series augmented by much better endurance, the latest WD Red has plenty going for it. Up to 4TB capacity, solid performance and excellent longevity make it an ideal fit for a high-end PC or entry-level workstation, on top of its NAS designation.
WD does charge a healthy premium for this new series - the 1TB model is up some 30 per cent over the regular SN750 - but like much in life, you get what you pay for. Bottom line, a solid, well-thought-out addition to the WD Red line-up.
