PRESS RELEASE

Sky Go helps relieve the stress of travelling this Christmas

Following the disruption that last year's wintry weather caused to our Christmas travels, the nation is no longer dreaming of a white Christmas. In a recent survey by Sky Go it's no surprise that 37% of people find travelling at Christmas one of the most stressful things about the festive season, second to Christmas shopping (45%) and ahead of cooking Christmas dinner (16.5%).

The research, which was carried out to celebrate the arrival of live and on demand Sky Movies channels on the Sky Go service, reveals that 69% of us spend most of our time visiting friends and family over Christmas and 80% of Brits spend up to 10 hours travelling by car or train to visit loved ones. Most people surveyed (63%) said being delayed when travelling was their biggest bugbear about the festive season. With snow falling across the nation in recent weeks and with more forecast, we can be sure that travelling around at Christmas time will not be easy.

The research also revealed that men and women have very different attitudes towards the stresses of Christmas. Whilst men worry most about busy holiday traffic and train delays more than females. More women worry about Christmas shopping and cooking the Christmas dinner. Women also spend twice as much time wrapping presents (40%) and men spend three times as long going to the pub (15%).

Sky has created the Sky Go Movie Express to help ease festive travel woes for some. The film-inspired themed train celebrates the arrival of live and on demand Sky Movies channels on the Sky Go service, which enables people to watch films on demand whenever and wherever they want.

Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Movies comments "The addition of Sky Movies on demand to Sky Go means customers can enjoy the great selection of films available this Christmas on Sky Movies whenever and wherever they want. We hope the new service will ease journeys across the UK for travellers this Christmas as they sit back and relax to enjoy their favourite movies on the go on their laptop, iPhone or iPad."

The Sky Go Movies Express departs from London Euston station on the morning of the 22nd December and travel to Birmingham New Street. The return journey departs after 7pm on the same day. Tickets are completely free.
