Virgin TV Anywhere first to light the Kindle Fire

Virgin Media's award winning mobile TV service, Virgin TV Anywhere has today become the first service of its kind to be available on Amazon's Kindle Fire devices.1 

Virgin TV Anywhere, which puts the power of TiVo in customers hands with more live streaming channels available than anywhere else is now supported for owners of Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HDX and Kindle Fire second generation tablets.2 

Scott Kewley, digital entertainment product director, Virgin Media, said: "We're delighted that TV Anywhere is the first service of its kind available to Kindle Fire users. With more live channels available than anywhere else we want Virgin Media homes to have the best digital entertainment services out there."   

Having recently added several Sky entertainment channels to TV Anywhere, Virgin Media customers will soon have access to all their Sky Sports channels on mobiles and tablets for the first time, through dedicated Sky Movies and Sky Sports apps. 

These will be initially available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices in mid August, with an Android version coming later. Sky Movies and Sky Sports channels currently available on TV Anywhere for PC will soon be moving to dedicated Sky Movies and Sky Sports websites with fantastic new features, so great news for PC users too. 

The Virgin TV Anywhere app is free to all Virgin Media TiVo® customers across 137 different types of Android devices plus iPads, iPhones and iPod touches, taking advantage of Virgin Media's cutting edge home entertainment and expertise in television, broadband and mobile. With the Virgin TV Anywhere app, customers can manage their TiVo boxes anywhere in the world on 3G/4G or WiFi, and watch up to 75 channels live anywhere in the UK using WiFi.
