Samsung Apps, the mobile phone application hub for Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., is here to alleviate some of your summer holiday wrinkles with applications geared for the summer traveler. From train tickets to dinner reservations and everything unique in between, the rapidly expanding app store can furnish you with virtually any travel-related application you could possibly think of.
"While it's meant to be a fun, relaxing way to spend time, sometimes traveling can be stressful. That's why we're singling out our travel-related apps for the summer season," said Kanghyun Kwon, vice president, Media Solutions Center, Samsung Electronics. "Samsung Apps has grown tremendously since its inception, and now we're at a point where we can offer virtually any app for any travel situation."
Indeed, Samsung Apps is growing at a rapid pace. Since its launch in September 2009, Samsung Apps has more than tripled the number of apps it offers in many major European and Asian markets. The application store's growth coincides with the worldwide introduction of the Wave handset, Samsung's latest touch-screen smart phone that is the company's first to run on its bada open smartphone platform. The device is being rolled out to markets throughout second quarter 2010.
Samsung Apps' travel applications fill a variety of needs for the seasoned (or otherwise) summer traveler. Here's a look at some of the featured apps:
