PRESS RELEASE

Honor 6X is the world’s first smartphone with a dual-camera for under £250

New flagship device combines stunning design with state-of-the-art technology

London, 3 January 2017 – Honor, the leading smartphone brand for digital natives, has launched its latest mid-range flagship device, the Honor 6X, in the UK, Europe and US at CES 2017. The new device features a user interface that is simple to navigate, boasts an impressive two day battery life and a dual camera. It’s set to break new ground at CES as the only smartphone brand under £250 available with a dual camera.

Honor 6X key specifications:

·         Android™ 6.0 (with split screen feature)

·         5.5-inch FullHD

·         Main camera: 12MP + 2MP dual camera

·         Battery for up to 2.2 days

·         Fingerprint sensor

Two lenses for wow factor photography

The device’s dual camera, which has a 12 megapixel main sensor, equipped with phase autofocus and LED flash, and a secondary 2 megapixel sensor, delivers professional-looking photography. Even in low light, noise levels are kept to a minimum thanks to Deep Trench Isolation (DTI), which isolates pixels to suppress blur. The result? A sharper picture quality with better colour reproduction, and no more challenges getting subjects in focus.

The lens system consists of six layers to enhance uniformity of light and reduce screen distortion significantly. To add to this, Phase Detection Autofocus Technology (PDAF) promises camera focus on a rapid 0.3 seconds, guaranteeing moments won’t be missed. Wide Aperture mode sets the user up with a host of photographic effects, including watermarks, whilst guaranteeing a simple-to-use editing.

Powered for performance with an epic battery

Inside the sleek design is a Kirin 655 octa-core CPU which delivers high-performance (4x 2.1GHz) for gaming and online browsing, retaining power efficiency for long standby and low-priority tasks (4x 1.7GHz). Accompanying this is up to 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, making the Honor 6X a very reliable device. Thanks to the power-efficient chipset design and a huge battery with 3,340mAh, run-time can stretch to 2.2 days without recharging.

As zippy as the processor is, the unlock process - touch the scanner and the smartphone is unlocked – takes just 0.3 seconds. With a simple swipe over the fingerprint scanner, users can quickly browse through photos, and a longer touch switches off the alarm clock. Even making a call or taking a selfie can happen with a touch of a finger.

The Honor 6X comes with a new EMUI feature called Wi-Fi Bridge which can significantly improve the transmission range and intensity of Wi-Fi signals. It allows you to use the Honor 6X as a Wi-Fi extender, so you can connect devices to your Wi-Fi network that may have been previously out of range.

Wilkin Lee, Honor UK Sales and Marketing Manager said, “We’ve created theHonor 6X for digitally savvy millennials who live by a philosophy of ‘double or nothing.’ Coupling strong performance with revolutionary a display, extended battery life and photographic innovation, we’ve delivered a handset that has a very affordable price tag without compromising on quality.

“The Honor 6X device is certainly a strong contender for the flagship title in the mid-range smartphone category this year, and we’re proud to be kicking-off 2017 with its launch at CES.”

Durable with good looks

The new handset has been designed to withstand rigid product testing, complying with the highest standards. It is protected by metal housing made from high-strength aluminium alloy which has been anodized twice to render it more scratch-resistant. With a screen size of 5.5 inches, 2.5D display and a curved back it sits neatly in the palm of a hand. Smooth, rounded edges and 2.5D glass give the handset a premium look and feel.

Honor has implemented a blue light filter, so using your smartphone before bed no longer has an impact on your sleep by helping to relieve visual fatigue.

And finally, full HD resolution and outdoor brightness modes of 450nit make it the ideal smartphone for watching films on the go.

The Honor 6X is available from January 4th in Grey, Gold and Silver on Honor’s vMall and Amazon for an incredible price of just £224.99, and with Three at the end of January, the exclusive provider for Honor. Visit www.vmall.eu.
