TomTom has today unveiled three upcoming portable navigation devices; the TomTom GO 950 LIVE (pictured), TomTom GO 750 LIVE and TomTom GO 550 LIVE.
The products, announced at the IFA exhibition in Berlin, form TomTom's flagship GO x50 LIVE series and are expected to become available this autumn, although pricing is yet to be disclosed.
As with the existing GO x40 LIVE range, all three upcoming devices make use of TomTom's IQ Routes technology - which is essentially a database of historical travel information recorded for every major road on every day of the week, allowing the guidance software to select what should in theory be the least congested route.
New to the x50 LIVE range is an "expanded LIVE Services offering", which TomTom states is "completely integrated in the device to deliver the ultimate navigation package on the market today". A revamped interface will provide at-a-glance access to HD Traffic, safety alerts and fuel prices via a new LIVE snapshot, and drivers will get real-time updates throughout their journey. Readers should note, however, that TomTom's LIVE services are charged at a monthly flat fee of £7.99.
