Could Hancock be the surprise hit of 2008?
In a year of sure-fire superhero smash hits, one could have easily overlooked Will Smith's outing as hard-living superhero, Hancock, who has fallen out of favour with the public.
This latest trailer, which premiered in the US during last night's American Idol, shows the movie in a completely different light and we're pleasantly surprised.
Clearly we're not the only ones to be impressed, the staff over at Entertainment Weekly have compiled a list of what they believe could be the top 10 grossing movies of the summer. They chose to feature Hancock as #3, behind only Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. According to Entertainment Weekly, therefore, Hancock will make more of an impact at the box office this summer than fellow superhero titles, The Dark Knight, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.
We can certainly see its appeal, Hancock looks set to be an easy-going, fun-filled action movie with a twist, what else do you need to get bums in seats? It should also be noted that Will Smith is no stranger to making huge box office opening weekends look easy.
