Samsung has announced a special edition of its flagship note-taking smartphone for Star Wars fans. The new Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Star Wars Special Edition will be released in select markets from 10th Dec, just ahead of the release of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker film on 20th Dec.
If you need a recap of the qualities and attractions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, 10+ and 10+ 5G it might be worth a look at our launch-time report from back in August. In brief, the Galaxy Note10+, upon which this Star Wars special edition is based, features a 6.8-inch punch-hole HDR10+ AMOLED display, 12GB RAM, up to 1TB of expandable storage and Samsung DeX work-friendly features, as well as an improves S Pen experience. The new Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Star Wars Special Edition brings all these same goodies, of course, with additional Star Wars theme designs for both hardware and software.
Perhaps the biggest and most immediately obvious changes impact the design of the handset. The Note10+ Star Wars Special Edition will be bundled with a specially designed embossed leather cover, a metal badge as a collector's item, plus a colour co-ordinated S Pen and Galaxy Buds. You can see this impressive "Sith inspired" collector's set in the main image, above.
On the software side of things, Samsung has bundled this special edition smartphone with "exclusive Star Wars-themed content" including wallpapers, shutdown animations, icons and sounds.
As mentioned in the intro, Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas on 20th Dec, but this smartphone will become available just ahead of that date, from 10th Dec. This is just one of several interactions that Samsung and Lucasfilm have planned, which may be exciting for Star Wars fans.
The UK is included in the 'select markets' where this smartphone will become available, alongside; Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UAE, and the USA. You should expect to pay a premium for this special edition when it becomes available.
