Fancy a new PS3 SKU anyone? The 40GB is still in stores, but it's being phased out for the 80GB which goes on general sale at the end of the week and now we can add the 160GB console into the equation.

Sony has today confirmed that a 160GB Playstation 3 will be available in all PAL regions later this year.

Speaking at the Sony press conference at the Leipsig Games Convention today, Sony boss David Reeves confirmed that the 160GB unit will retail at approximately 449 Euros, which works out at 50 Euros more than the upcoming 80GB console.

The specification for the new model will be identical to the 80GB SKU and will go on sale from October 31, 2008.

Plenty of space to fit all those PSN games then, happy downloading!

Easier to get one model then change the hard drive over when you fill it up to like 250GB, can get a drive from Scan for about £45 …

For you, yes. Remember there are quite a few people out there who will not or are scared to do such things. I think this is being released to go with the PVR addon so that there is room to actually record things.
