Following the arrival of the world’s first PS3 mod chip last month another major breakthrough has arrived with the first emulations of the Snes9x and Dreamcast making their way onto Sony’s console.

Homebrew developer drk||Raziel claims to be the guy who's made it all possible, but still says that it will be a month or two before the emulations will be fully playable without experiencing slow frame-rates and glitches.

The news coincides with Sony’s attempts to stop PS Jailbreak and any USB unofficial third party device from working by releasing firmware update 3.50. This latest firmware upgrade may make your unofficial controller explode, says the PS3 manufacturer.

The PS Jailbreak works via USB and keeps the existing warranty intact allowing people to load homebrew apps/games of any USB hard drive/flash drive.

They want to cause explosions in peoples homes - I know they want to stop third party controllers but thats a bit extreme and opening themselves upto lawsuits surely?
