Boot up your PlayStation 3 today and you’ll be greeted with a new firmware update, version 3.60. “Oh, no not another pointless firmware update that takes half-an-hour to download, when all we wanted to do was play Bulletstorm for ten minutes," we hear you cry.

Fear not, this update is actually worth the wait for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Those who have forked out £40 for a year to gain entry into the elite club will now have access to 150MB of online storage, which will allow them to store up to 1000 game saves in the cloud service.

For those who aren’t PlayStation Plus members, the update allows you to set "the amount of time before a controller turns off after you have stopped using it.”

If you are interested in signing up, PlayStation Plus is the PS3’s premium service which gives you access to early demo, special offers and extra features.
