Naughty Dog’s next installment in the Uncharted action adventure series for PlayStation 3 will feature YouTube and Facebook integration, allowing users to share their in-game experiences.

Due for release on 4, November, 2011 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will see protagonist Nathan Drake and mentor Victor Sullivan travelling around the world to such places as the Rub' al Khali desert, in search of the legendary lost city, the Iram of the Pillars.

According to the developer, players will be able to view a live feed of Facebook friends via the PlayStation Network and can then view their creations without having to leave their game. Players can upload videos from the single player campaign and multiplayer component directly to Facebook, as well as make posts and take screenshots. The first five Facebook friends who "like" your post may receive an in-game gift.

"I don't think anyone else has gone to that level to bring Facebook within the game. People usually do it the other way around," said Christophe Balestra, co-president of Naughty Dog. "We are the first ones who are doing this."

"Our goal for Facebook is to really make sure you can interact with your Facebook friends the way you interact with your PSN friends," Balestra says. "You can talk to them (and) you can invite them to your party. You are going to see icons of people's faces and their real names. So right away it is going to feel bigger."

"We're trying to create unique stories every time you play, to continue this feeling of a familiar and close-knit community, sort of like how Facebook already operates when friends upload photos and videos of their travel or parties," he says. "We're not just updating your wall with basic things happening in the game."

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will also feature some video editing tools allowing you to cut scenes from a video file, change camera positions and add voice. You can then upload the creations directly to YouTube. The game also features ‘Uncharted TV’ where Naughty Dog will display the best user creations.
