Wii will Wii will rock you!

Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has confirmed that the ultimate interactive music videogame experience, Rock Band is being developed for Wii and will be released this year.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have yet to be released in the UK, but the game has been enjoying great success in North America, where gamers have been rocking out to the likes of RadioHead’s “Creep” and The Clash’s “Should I stay or Should I go” since its release in November 2007.

The last we heard was that it was due for a March release over here, but EA still haven't officially confirmed it.

EA has said that they'll play to the strength of each console so it will interesting to see whether the Wii version will feature Mii integration and whether gamers will be willing to fork out for a costly Rock Band kit that will no doubt cost almost as much as the console itself.

An official press release with firm details is expected shorty.

I'm not too sure. I played Boogie, EA's other music game on Wii and thought it was useless. I'm sure they'll spend more time with this, but I'd much rather play the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions.
i think Rock band is going to be huge! and the possibilities are endless!
imagine playing online with others together to make the song . . . . droooool!
i also hear the online downloadable content for it wont be a half arsed botch job like guitar hero is doing - singles, 2 to 4 songs per pack, where as rock band have already gotten their mits on numerous artists who are willing to let almost entire albums be used in game. very interesting
