Is girth better than length?

It's not the size that matters, it's what you do with it that counts, or so they say.The floor plans for E3 have been released and, although it's hard to tell by these pictures, it appears that Nintendo have the largest amount of space at the show.

The Electronics Expo 2006 in is just around the corner and, although there's going to be so much to see, there's no doubt that the largest queues will be in the Sony and Nintendo areas, where the general public will be jostling for prime positions in the lenghty queues.

Whilst Nintendo's floor space is certainly bigger in length, Sony's area certainly has more girth (I mean width), estimates suggest that Nintendo's space is 5-10% bigger.

10%? naa, more like 4-5% tops (import the pdf into photoshop etc, at 800dpi, then use the marquee tool to calculate the area of both stands in pixels, assuming that the pdf is to scale)

rough pixel area of sony stand = 5.36million pixels
rough pixel area of nintendo stand = 5.55 million pixels

If the nintendo stand was 10% larger then it would be nearer 6 million square pixels. (that's assuming they don't have multiple level stands… ;))

But none of this really matters, what they have on the stands will be of a lot more interest ;)
Cheers Stu, Well deduced!
