Beam me up Scotty, to the conclusion

It's difficult to rate an MMORPG, their very nature means that twelve months down the line all manner of content could be added, tweaks made and the experience changed completely for both newcomers and existing players alike. At the moment Star Trek Online is an enjoyable MMORPG with great space combat, questionable ground combat and good mission design even if it does border on the repetitive at times. Though there are certain aspects of the game that feel unfinished and underdeveloped it has great potential and offers a much more accessible experience than it's only real rival, EVE Online. There's still plenty of content to enjoy though and best of all you don't have to be a hardcore Star Trek fan to get the most out of the experience, it certainly adds to it if you are, but this is a game that any Sci-Fi fan or MMORPG player looking for something a little different should be able to enjoy.

Pro's
Good use of the license
Great space combat
Huge potential for expansion

Con's
Lacklustre ground combat
Slightly repetitive mission design
