Great A.I and gorgeous graphics

Aside to the main missions there are plenty of side-quest and objectives, including saving the woolly mammoths from poachers, destroying outposts, and collecting artefacts. By completing all of the quests within a mission you receive extra bonus points which can be used to bolster your army before the next mission.

The response and movement of the A.I is extremely important in any real time strategy game, and Paraworld passes with flying colours. Highlight a group of warriors and send them to attack a guard tower and they’ll stick together as a group during the demolition and afterwards. If there are other enemy units in the vicinity they will stay within the group and attack those units unless you tell them otherwise. Whilst moving around the environment, defending your base, or attacking an enemy, your units respond accurately and swiftly to your commands. If you inadvertently forget to highlight a member of the group it’s easy to find their position thanks to the colour coded mini-map that sits in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. In fact, the mini-map tells you all you need to know about the location of objectives, missions, resources and friendly or enemy units.

Paraworld is a beautiful looking game with plenty of cut-scenes to bolster the storyline. Dinosaurs are accurately recreated and often go about their own business through the rich jungles and atmospheric hostile environments, whilst buildings and units are intricately detailed and easy to differentiate between at a moments notice.

Paraworld also offers another dimension to its game playing experience with a multiplayer mode for up to 8 people. There are three different game modes to choose from, deathmatch, defender and domination and players are free to select their tribe or heroes freely. You can also choose a pre-defined army based on three factors, offensive, defensive or balances or pick your own units for battle.

The subject matter is undoubtedly a big draw for Paraworld, after all what could be cooler than riding a stegosaurus into battle, but Sunflowers and SEK have also managed to take the idea of humans working with dinosaurs and implement it superbly into the RTS genre. From riding on the back of a wild boar, to using a Brachiosaurs catapult to take down buildings, the developers have approached the game with a great deal of humour and fun as well as providing a solid method to manage and move your units. The variety of interesting units, buildings and upgrades makes Paraworld stand out from the crowd and fans of the RTS genre will love it. If you’re not fond of RTS games this could be the title to convert you.

Sounds interesting, and some of the screenshots are gorgeous. First I've heard about it as well, may have to have a further dig :)

(btw in the where2buy bit, it says Saints Row not ParaWorld. The link is fine though)

Cheers! Amended

Now I'm quite new to the RTS genre so I haven't really got much to compare it to, but it's made me sit up and take notice and I'm looking forward to playing another one of Sunflowers games - Anno 1701.
