LG has unveiled three new models which will join its G Pad tablet series. The new tablets are differentiated by size as LG aims to give its customers more options. LG's previous Android tablet, the second generation LG G Pad 8.3, announced last September, was well-received by reviewers and users alike.

Although no tech specs or prices have been revealed for the 7, 8, or 10-inch tablets, it would seem that LG is expanding its footprint in the tablet market to better combat Samsung's substantial range of tablets and price points.

We may be able to grasp some hints from the previous generation G Pad 8.3 on what to expect from the new models, which should share similar but perhaps slightly updated specs. The current G Pad model is powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB Storage and a 1920x1200 pixel (273ppi) display. Priced at $350, it is currently placed towards the top-end of the 8-inch tablet market, rivalling Samsung's Galaxy Tab Pro.

We know the upcoming LG tablets will incorporate features such as; Knock Code - a way of letting users unlock their device by tapping out their own custom patterns on the display, and QPair 2.0 - a technology which was first introduced with the G Pad 8.3, allowing seamless connectivity between one's smartphone to a G Pad.

"Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts," wrote LG in a press release.

The G Pad 7.0 is described as an "on-the-go entertainment hub". It is the company's smallest tablet, designed to be held in one hand. The G Pad 8.0 is touted as giving users "an immersive multimedia experience and smooth multitasking". Finally the G Pad 10.1 is said to provide "endless hours of entertainment" with the largest display and battery of the range.

The three tablets will be formally introduced at the MedPI 2014 trade show, taking place in Monaco between today and Friday 16th May. On the 27th May LG will release its flagship G3 smartphone in London/New York/ San Francisco. So there's not long to wait to find out the full details about any and all of these devices.

One source worth reviewing for new Tablets is– iProTablet - and features six new models to launch in May, including the iFive mini4 ($199) which is the first 8-inch Android tablet on the market with a retina-quality, 2048x1536 display and powered by the new RK3288 processor with high performance comparable to Snapdragon 800.

Also new this week is the Pipo T9 ($277) with an 8.9“ full HD display and features comparable to the LG G-Pad 8.3” tablet; plus offers a 3G HSPA+ SIM card slot with Internet and that also makes voice calls like a regular Android phone.
“Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all….”

I'm sorry, what? You lost me LG. Smartphones are one size fits all now?

While, that was very badly worded, I think what LG was trying to say was that the range on an average smartphone ( 3“ to say 5.5” ) is small compared to the range of tablets (7“ to 12” with some now!). And that different size tablets meet different needs.

Either way, it's rubbish advert talk. I just want to see some specs!
I've got the G-pad 8.3 and it's a fantastic bit of kit. Really nice build quality.

+1 … its a very good tablet and some good deals are often avaialable on it like the recent Tesco one selling it for £119, obviously shifting stock before the new ones launched.
